Information & Registration
Driver Education
View our class listing page to search for upcoming classes and parent meetings. Each Driver Ed session has 15 modules. The full list of topics covered in each session can be found here.
New to Driver Ed? Visit our list of Frequently Asked Questions or contact Rich Dushanek, the Driver Education Program Administrator, at rdushanek@abschools.org or at 978-393-5455 for assistance.
Applicants can use their own vehicle for the license road test; the vehicle must meet all RMV requirements. Visit the RMV website for details.
Students in need of a vehicle meeting the RMV requirements (emergency brake located in the center console) should contact Rich Dushanek at rdushanek@abschools.org or at 978-393-5455 to discuss and schedule the use of the A-B Community Ed vehicle and instructor. The fee for this service is currently $125.
Required Parent Meeting
The Registry of Motor Vehicles requires that a parent or guardian attend a parent education class BEFORE their child can schedule any in-car driving lessons. Parent Meetings are held via GoogleMeet and capacity is limited due to RMV restrictions. View our class listing page to search for parent meeting dates. Parents/guardians MUST pre-register for the meeting. Only one parent/guardian should submit a registration, although both parents can attend.
Parent Meetings are FREE for parents of children in our Driver Ed program. If your child is not enrolled in our program, you may attend a Parent Meeting for a $35 fee. Contact us at ceregistrar@abschools.org if your child is not registered for a Community Ed Driver Ed class.
If you attended a meeting within the last five years for another child (whether at Community Ed or through another driving school), you do not need to attend the meeting again. Contact Rich Dushanek to verify attendance for a previous Parent Meeting, or to provide a letter certifying that you attended a meeting at another Driver Education program.
Please visit the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) website for updates and current requirements for obtaining a learner's permit, scheduling license exams, obtaining a REAL ID, etc.
