Who can register for Community Ed programs & classes? Registration is open to all; some classes have specific age or grade level requirements as noted in the class descriptions. Non-residents of Acton-Boxborough are welcome and are assessed a $4 out of town fee (per class).

Registrations Unless otherwise noted, registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis until a class reaches capacity, or until the start of a class (and even sometimes after a class has begun). Once a class reaches capacity, you can add yourself to the waitlist by clicking through the 'Add to Waitlist' steps. If you are waitlisted for a class, you will be contacted if/when a space becomes available.
Payment is required at the time of registration. Students are advised to register early as under-enrolled classes will be canceled.
Participants who register online will receive a receipt/confirmation via email. If the class is full and you are waitlisted, the email will indicated that you are waitlisted for the class.

Cancellation & Refund Policy Full refunds are given if a class is canceled due to low enrollment.
Email or call us at 978-266-2525 (option 1) to cancel a registration. A 90% refund is issued if a request to withdraw is received at least one week prior to the class start date. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations requested less than one week before the class start date. Some classes have unique cancellation policies; these are listed in the class descriptions and supersede this general policy.


Senior Citizens Persons age 62 and older are eligible for a discounted rate if a senior rate is noted on theclass description, although many classes do not offer a senior rate. This discount does not apply to rental equipment or supplies.

Class Cancellations If a single session of a class is canceled, we will do our best to schedule a make-up session. Community Ed. will inform participants of the cancellation via the email listed in their registration accounts. No credit/refund will be issued for the inability to attend a make-up class.

Miscellaneous Community Education will cancel any class with insufficient enrollment and refund tuition in full. Community Ed reserves the right to provide a qualified substitute teacher in the event that the teacher listed on the website is unable to fulfill their teaching assignment. Participation in Community Education programs is voluntary, and participants are expected to follow any rules in places for safe participation.
