How to Schedule a Road Test

You have completed Driver Education - What are the next steps?

Note: Updated in June 2020 - Reflects Changes in place during COVID.
After you have completed your required classroom instruction and driving lessons, and your parent or guardian has attended the required Parent/Guardian meeting, your Driver Education course is complete.

The next step is to schedule your Road Test. Before you can schedule your Road Test, you need to submit the following documents to the Driver Ed office:

The above items should be placed in an envelope labeled with the student's name and "Driver Ed". The envelope should be placed in the drop slot labeled "Night Drop Box-Community Ed only", which is located to the left hand side of the Administration Building front doors. The Administration Building is at 15 Charter Rd.
The paperwork is submitted to the RMV for processing; it takes 7-10 business days for them to receive and process.
After that time, you can go online to mass.gov/rmv and schedule a license test appointment (if eligible).

A fully completed Class D or M Road Test application form is required. You will not be able to take your Road Test without this form, filled out and signed by a parent. Leave the sponsor section blank.

If you choose this option, you will schedule the test at mass.gov/rmv approximately 7-10 business days after your paperwork has been submitted. The process may take 20 minutes or more; please be patient. A helpful hint: We recommend that students pre-pay for their licenses and Road Tests while on-line. This will save time waiting at the RMV on the day of the Road Test. You may also want to pre-pay on the day you get your Learner's Permit.
